Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • I, the corresponding author, am authorized by all of my co-authors to submit this manuscript.
  • Gather the information about the manuscript:
    (a) For all authors: first name, last name.
    (b) For all authors: postal address, e-mail address and affiliation.
    (c) Manuscript title;
    (d) Manuscript abstract;
    (e) Classification codes according to UDC.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The manuscript, or any part thereof, is in no way a violation of any existing original or derivative copyright.
  • The manuscript contains nothing obscene, indecent, objectionable or libelous.
  • Manuscript is prepared in LaTeX format (preferably) or MS Word format.
  • With the submission it is added the file with the manuscript in PDF-format.
  • The cover letter must contain the section and the name of the editor whose interests your manuscript most closely matches http://umj.imath.kiev.ua/index.php/umj/topics

Author Guidelines

Language. Manuscripts in Ukrainian and English are accepted for review.

Lenght. The article should not exceed 16 pages of the journal. Longer articles are accepted for publication as an exception at the discretion of the editorial board or at its request.

Scope. UMZh publishes articles and brief communications on various areas of pure and applied mathematics. The major topics of interest are listed here http://umj.imath.kiev.ua/index.php/umj/topics . 

All the manuscripts are subject to peer review by anonymous referees.

The Editorial Board does not correspond with the authors beyond the official procedure of accepting/rejection and reviewing of the article(s).

Important information:

  1. The editorial board does not consider manuscripts sent to the editorial office by email or regular mail. Submissions are made exclusively through this electronic portal, which provides protection against spam and the use of computer bots.

  2. The manuscript must include full affiliations (scientific or educational institutions, scientific societies, etc.) of all authors without exception. According to Ukrainian legislation and the ethical code of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the organizations where the authors work guarantee compliance with the norms of scientific integrity and are responsible in case of its violation. If there is no affiliation for at least one of the authors, the editorial board has the right to reject the manuscript based on formal criteria, considering it lacking the necessary guarantee.

  3. Articles written in Ukrainian and accepted for publication are given priority and are published faster.

  4. The journal considers short communications (up to 6 pages), which are reviewed through an expedited procedure and are published out of turn.

  5. The Ukrainian Mathematical Journal accepts review articles (up to 35 pages) for consideration.
