Lukovsky-90: The Ukrainian Mathematical Journal is releasing a special issue in honour and memory of Professor Ivan Lukovsky on the occasion of his 90th anniversary. This dedicated issue acknowledges his noteworthy contributions to the field of mathematical problems of mechanics, including the dynamics of rigid bodies carrying a liquid with free surface. Mathematicians and experts in mathematical mechanics are invited to submit their articles for potential inclusion in this special issue using the journal's online submission system. Even though the issue focuses on works associated with Professor/Academician Lukovsky’s achievements, submissions covering other topics within the journal's scope are also encouraged. All manuscripts intended for the special issue will undergo standard peer-review procedure and must adhere to the established standards of the Journal. The cover letter should refer to the Lukovsky-90 special issue and the Editor-in-Chief, Alexander Timokha as the managing editor of the issue.

Language. Manuscripts in Ukrainian and English are accepted for consideration.

Lenght. Since 2025, there have been no limits to the manuscript volume.

Scope. Ukrainian Mathematical Journal publishes articles in a wide range of areas  of pure and applied mathematics, which could only be restricted by the specializations of the Editorial Board members  https://umj.imath.kiev.ua/index.php/umj/topics  

Peer review. All manuscripts are subject to a single-blind peer review by anonymous referees. The review procedure is managed by one of the Editorial Board Members whose name must be indicated in the cover letter of the submission.

Contacts. The Editorial Board does not communicate with the authors beyond the official procedures of accepting, rejecting, and reviewing the manuscript.

Important information:

  1. The Editorial Board does not consider for publication any manuscripts sent by email or regular mail. Submissions should exclusively be organised via the journal's electronic portal that ensures protection against spam and computer bots.

  2. The manuscript must include full affiliations (research or educational institution, scientific/professional society, company, etc.) of all authors. According to Ukrainian legislation and the ethical code of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the affiliating organisations, along with the authors, are responsible for compliance with the norms of scientific integrity.

  3. The Ukrainian Mathematical Journal also accepts review articles for consideration.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following criteria:

  • The corresponding author is authorised by co-authors to submit this manuscript.
  • The manuscript has not been previously submitted for consideration to another journal.
  • The manuscript (any of its parts) does not violate any existing original or derivative copyright.
  • The manuscript contains nothing obscene, indecent, objectionable or libelous.
  • The first manuscript submission should be done in PDF-format. It also strongly requires a cover letter where the authors indicate the associate/managing editor from the Editorial Board Members list  who will serve the peer review procedure and make intermediate and final decision. 
  • After the acceptance, the author will be required to provide Production Files prepared in LaTeX format (preferably) or MS Word format.
  • The manuscript must include: (a) for all authors: first name, last name; their postal address, e-mail address and affiliation. (b) manuscript title; (c) abstract;  (d) declarations on [i] conflicts of interest, [ii] funding sources and [iii] contributions of the co-authors.
