Abstract

Ans¨atzes that reduce the equationutt==a(t)uuxx+b(t)u2x+c(t)u to a system of two ordinary differential equations are defined. Also it is shown that the problem of constructing exact solutions of the form u=μ1(t)x2+μ2(t)xα,α\bfR, to this equation, reduces to integrating of a system of linear equations μ1=Φ1(t)μ1,μ2=Φ2(t)μ2, where Φ1(t) and \Phi 2(t) are arbitrary predefined functions.
